A sales model has one date that matters: the day the sales suite opens. Work back from it.

The day the model has to stand in the sales suite, the boardroom or the exhibition.

IIThe arithmetic

One week to prepare the drawings for the workshop. Four weeks of building. One week by courier. One week on site to place and light the model. Before all of that, time to answer questions, price the model and agree the drawings.

The workshop is in Shanghai and closes for Chinese New Year, Labour Day and the National Day week; the planner moves the earlier steps back by those days. These times hold when the drawings are complete, consistent and unchanged during the build. A change moves the dates; a large or complex model may need longer, and the quote says so.

Send the drawings you have. We answer within one working day, in your language, with questions and a price.

Seven weeks before

Order and final drawings

Elevations, floor plans, a roof plan, sections and a colour scheme, ideally in AutoCAD (.dwg). The first week goes to preparing them for the workshop. Missing drawings can be completed for a fee.

Six weeks before

The build begins

Four weeks of laser and CNC cutting, hand assembly and airbrush painting, with photographs of the work in progress for your approval.

Two weeks before

Crated and shipped

Door to door by FedEx or DHL, about a week, to any continent.

One week before

In place

Time to set the model in the sales suite and light it before the doors open. Five renderings of the finished model follow.

These dates hold when the drawings do. Around Chinese New Year (about two and a half weeks), Labour Day (1 to 5 May) and the National Day week (1 to 7 October) the workshop is closed, and the planner allows for it. Less than seven weeks to go? Write anyway. Whether a closer date can be met depends on the size of the model and on what the workshop is building at the time.
