Every dimension at exact scale. What you see on the shelf is what will stand on the site — nothing widened, nothing flattered.

03The atelier

Every owner and project manager at AMOD trained as an architect. We read your drawings the way you drew them — then cut the pieces by laser and CNC, assemble them by hand, and paint them with airbrush, in ABS, acrylic and wood.
The workshop is in Shanghai. The conversation is in English, Dutch, Chinese, French or German — wherever your site is.

Analysis
Once a project is approved we read the drawings for completeness and discrepancies. When we know exactly what needs to be built — and what still needs to be gathered — we tell you, and start drafting.
Drafting & cutting
We redraw your project into shapes that can be cut and assembled, then send them to the machine room, where walls, window frames and roofing are precision-cut by CNC and laser.
Skeleton assembly
The cut pieces come together by hand and the main shape of the building starts to show. At larger scales the first textures are already visible.
Base colours
Our craftsmen spray the base colours with airbrush — melanges for brick, texture for sandstone, weathered concrete, marble smooth enough to skate on. Samples and trials until the swatches are right.
Model meets base
The model joins its floor plate — the layout of the surroundings. Seeing it in context is usually the aha-moment where everything comes together.
Adding the details
Window frames, glazing, railings, doors, chimneys, lighting, cars, trees — and of course the little figures. You receive photographs throughout; nothing leaves the workshop unseen.
Packing
A sturdy wooden crate, safe distance between model and crate walls, and a dust blanket. We have packed models for twenty years; they arrive the way they left.
Delivery
Once the courier collects the crate you receive the tracking number. In as little as 3–4 days the model is hand-delivered to your doorstep by FedEx or DHL.
